Review and Swatches: Arbonne Cosmetics

It’s review time! As promised in my last post, here is my first review on Arbonne cosmetics. I don’t actually own any products yet…I’ve got an order coming in the post (should arrive this week!!). However I have borrowed Bella’s (she is the consultant who got me onto Arbonne) kit a couple times for makeup parties now so while I had her makeup I took the opportunity to do a few swatches for you. I decided to include the prices for Retail, Preferred and Client so you can see how much cheaper it is to be a preferred client or consultant πŸ™‚ I am going to start with Eyeshadows. I have 8 to review today.

Java. A medium dark brown with a matte finish. Chocolate is one of my favourite colours in the eyeshadow range. The gold flecks add a nice sheen to the shadow. Two pretty purples πŸ™‚ Divine Plum isn’t so highly pigmented, I did have to work at building it up but I love the colour. It would look great with green or brown or even blue eyes. Cabernet would look best with blue or green eyes πŸ™‚ Titanium is a nice silver colour, perfect for creating a silver smoky eye! Smoke looks kind of brown in the photo but in real life it’s more of a silver/taupe colour. Midnight is a highly pigmented blue-black colour. One of the girls at my makeup party wanted to do a blue smoky eye, she used blue slate on the lid, a navy blue Β in the crease and darkened the crease up with midnight, looked amazing! I really like how smooth and almost creamy feeling (with the exception of chocolate which is a tiny bit grainy but that is due to the gold flecks) these shadows are. The Essentials: $26 Retail Client Price. Lip Gloss: The lip glosses are beautiful. Very creamy, not sticky and really pigmented. My favourites out of the above are Brown Sugar, Pearl and Posh. Brown Sugar is a perfect light brown colour, I’ve never worn brownish colours on my lips before but this looks great! Pearl is an awesome nude lipgloss, looks great with a dark smokey eye, and posh is a pretty candy pink. The Essentials: $36 Retail Client Price Cheeks: Dusty Rose looks awesome on fairer skin tones and Apricot is perfect for those with a more tan/olive complexion. Very smooth powder blushes, Dusty Rose is matte while Apricot has a pretty shimmer to it. Dusty Rose is very similar to my favourite blush by Zuii – Melon but without the shimmer. The Essentials: Price: $40 Retail Price. I don’t use bronzer but this is a nice one that can be used for contouring as it doesn’t have a lot of shimmer. It looks quite light in the photo but it’s a bit darker in real life. The Essentials: $46 Retail Client Price. Foundation/Primer: LOVE!!! This primer is amazing!! It literally makes your skin feel like silk…and it has vitamins in it too, so not only does it make your skin feel smooth it’s actually good for your skin, win-win πŸ™‚ I dare you to not fall in love with this product when you try it out haha. This is a must buy if you want to create the perfect base. The Perfecting Liquid Foundation is one of the main reasons I decided to go with Arbonne. I love it πŸ˜€ The formula is so light, it doesn’t feel thick and cakey on your face, it really does feel like you are wearing nothing! But at the same time the foundation provides a really nice coverage, evening out redness and hiding blemishes really well. I used these foundations at a makeup party on the weekend and all the ladies loved it and were really surprised at how good the coverage is for such a light-weight foundation. Oh and it has SPF 15 πŸ™‚ What Arbonne says about this foundation: “Arbonne’s Perfecting Liquid Foundation SPF 15Β is the ultimate in liquid foundation technology with polypeptides, gliding seamlessly onto the skin creating an even smooth tone. TheΒ Perfecting Liquid Foundation SPF 15Β with light reflecting properties is delivered effortlessly through the airless pump, resulting in a flawless finish, whilst maintaining moisture levels for a smooth and healthy skin tone. The exclusive Optilight Technology helps ensure that the product is non-comodogenic, enhancing breathability and reducing the chance of pore clogging and skin issues.” From left to right:Toffee Bronze, Rosy Beige, Neutral, Honey Beige,Buff, Soft Blush, Fair, Alabaster. There are another 7 shades that I will photograph once I’ve bought them. 15 shades is a pretty good selection πŸ™‚ Will hopefully have the whole range within the next few months but the 8 shades I’ve listed above are going to be the most popular I reckon. I’ve been trying out the colours on myself, trying to find a good match. It is so much easier to match someone else than yourself! At first I thought I was Buff and then I decided I was Soft Blush…I’m still not entirely sure ha ha. Will have to get someone to help me decide πŸ˜›

The Essentials: Price: $55 retail price.

That’s all I’ve got to review today. As I add to my kit I will write up more reviews πŸ™‚

Chloe xx

      Hi Marisa,

I would try Golden Beige or Deep Beige…you are always welcome to send me a photo of yourself so I have a better idea of what shade to pick…I had a look at Nc30 online and it looks similar to these 2 shades.

Let me know how you go! xx

Thank you for this amazing review!! I am always looking for another source of info to send my client. The only suggestion I would make would be to omit the phrase ” all natural ingredients” it can be misleading. Arbonne is botanically based using the purest of nature and the best of science to bring a truly pure safe and beneficial product line that people can share with their whole family.

Thanks again for your informative take on our fantastic cosmetics!!

    Hi,
I currently use clique number 3 even better makeup. I am looking at buff or honey beige and I’m not sure which one too get. I am worried that honey beige may be too dark.
    Thanks for your advice πŸ™‚

    Hi!
My mother currently uses Make Up Forever HD N120 and is looking to switch to Arbonne Liquid Foundation. Do you have a shade suggestion?? She has a warm yellow undertone.

    Thanks,

Hi, if someone is using Younique taffeta or napoleon sheer genius medium look 3 would you compare that to natural beige?
What colour concealer and finishing powder would you put with that.
    Thanks

Hi Rebekah – I haven’t seen this Estee Lauder shade in person but I googled swatches and going off what I see I would say it’s closer to the Arbonne Honey Beige. I hope that helps!
