VLOG: Weekend Antics

Hi lovely,

I decided to vlog my whirlwind trip down to Bunbury on Friday. It’s only second ever vlog and I had to film on my iPhone as my video recorder’s charger cord decided to die on me 🙁 I thought the quality wasn’t too bad while editing but once uploaded YouTube seemed to reduce it even further so I do apologise for the less than amazeballs quality hehe. Anyways I hope you still enjoy!

Malcolm had a gig booked at the Prince hotel so I came along for the ride….mainly so I had something to vlog about 😛 I woke up early on Friday feeling proper motivated for the first time in a while. I leapt out of bed, had a shower and even did a WORKOUT!!! It felt so good to move my body again…it’s been way too long.

Now, those who know me will attest to the fact that tidiness is no longer my forte (12 year old me would be mortified) so I spent some time tidying the house and my room. How amazing does a clean, tidy room/house feel?!

By this time sleepy head had arisen so I packed my bag and we jumped in the car. First stop Fremantle. Malcolm had to do a quick job there. In the mean time I raced to the petrol station and then to our favourite kebab store, bought my fave falafel and hommus kebab; picked up Malcolm and off to Bunbury we went.

Once in “bunners” I unpacked the car while Malcolm set up for the gig. My good friend Tara met me at the Prince and we snuck off to do some lipstick shopping in Priceline! I’m on a spending ban at the moment so been surrounded by makeup was a real test of my will haha. I managed to not buy anything 😛

I didn’t get any footage of the actual gig, sorry guyyyyys! I basically spent the night standing by the fire outside and peering through the window watching Mal on drums! #groupiealert. After the gig we found another kebab shop then went back to our room where I basically sat on the spare bed munching on my kebab and drinking my orange juice – you should have seen the mattress in the morning, crumbled falafel everywhere! ooopsie.

Saturday morning was rather uneventful.  We packed up our room, ate breakfast at Natural Temptation (highly recommend if you are in Bunbury) and drove back to Perth.

Anyhoooooo! If you enjoyed this vlog please give it a like and subscribe if you haven’t already. As always please shoot me your requests in the comments, what do you want to see next?

Lots of love,

Chloe x

Friday Favourites: Coconut Oil

While showering this week I tried out something new with coconut oil and in light of this I decided that I would do a post on what I use coconut oil for!

~ Shaving Cream ~
Yes you read that right, shaving cream!!! I had a “nooo, that surely won’t work!” reaction when I read about this on another blog so this week I decided to try it out and whaddaya know! It works really well! Normally the blade really irritates my skin and makes it feel super sensitive and itchy even while I’m shaving! With the coconut oil my blade glided smoothly, I didn’t feel it at all on my skin. No redness or itchiness when I got out of the shower – just super smooth lusious pins 😀

A couple tips:

  • After every second or third “stroke/shave?” rinse the blade in the water otherwise it gets clogged up.
  • Make sure to just spread a THIN layer of coconut oil on your skin so as to not clog the blade and to ensure that it actually cuts the hair.

~ Cooking ~
Nom nom nom. Coconut oil is the bomb for cooking with. I love the nutty flavor it infuses into my food.

My easy go-to meal is roast veggies. Chop up your veggies into small chunks then spread chunks of the oil around the tray along with Nuttelex Olive, although I have just discovered that they do a coconut version now, and a nice sprinkling of Murray River Pink Rock Salt then plonk in the oven for half hour or so. Soooo good! I’m getting so hungry just writing about this haha.

If you are wondering what Nuttelex is – it is a vegan alternaltive to butter (tastes better in my opinion too). I’ve been using it for years:

  • Dairy & Lactose FREE
  • Gluten FREE
  • Nut Oil FREE
  • FREE FROM Artificial Additives
  • Soy FREE
  • FREE FROM Animal Ingredients
  • Cholesterol FREE
  • Free From Genetically Modified Ingredients

~ Makeup Remover ~
Legit the best makeup remover EVER! It literally melts the makeup on your face. I rub a small amount between my fingers then gently rub onto my eye makeup and then the rest of my face. Keep massaging the oil in until all makeup is a black smudgy mess on your face then use a natural cleanser to remove the oil et voila makeup gone!

~ Body moisturiser ~
Towards the end of my shower I slather the oil from my legs up and on to my face then lightly rinse off et voila! Nice smooth, lovely smelling skin. I find that just doing that alone helps stop my skin from looking all dry and scaly. I still moisturise my face with a cream moisturiser as I have really dry cheeks and forehead.

~ Where to buy? ~
I buy mine from Coles in the health section – you can also buy from health stores.

What to look for:

  • Organic
  • Unrefined
  • Virgin Coconut Oil

The brand I’m currently using is Planet Food. I also use the ECO brand which I got from Coles as well.

What do you use coconut oil for? Let me know in the comments below. I’m yet to try it in my hair or oil pulling…as anyone tried it? I would love to hear from you!

Much love,

Chloe xxx
