Photo Shoot: Steampunk at The Pinnacles

I’m sorry that I’ve been a bit quiet on here this past week! I don’t actually have internet connection at home so I do most of my blogging at my boyfriend’s house. But he has been in Europe for the past month so I’ve had to use my iPhone as internet for that time and now I’ve run out of data on my phone…meaning I can’t use it for the next couple weeks! Boo πŸ™ So I’m currently typing this post at McDonalds, taking full advantage of their free Wi-Fi πŸ˜›Β

I am finally posting the photos from my Steampunk shoot up at the Pinnacles!! Belinda’s husband Brendon (otherwise known as chauffeur and pack horse ;)) came along on our road trip, so while he drove Belinda and I amused ourselves by filming the endless scrub and pretty much talking non-stop hehe. I’ve never actually been to the Pinnacles so I was pretty excited to do this photo shoot up there. Hehe to be honest I actually wasn’t even sure WHERE the Pinnacles were located so when Belinda suggested we do a shoot up there I said “yeah that sounds awesome!” then went home and googled what they were and where they are located πŸ˜› hahaha. I have heard of them just wasn’t too sure what they looked like ha. Anyway, now I know that they are a bunch of rocks growing up out of the ground in pointy and sometimes amusing shapes ha ha.Β

Many thanks to the lovely Zoe from The Powder Room for loaning me these gorgeous corsets and skirts!! My dream of wearing a corset finally came true πŸ˜€ Do check out The Powder Room, Zoe sells the most divine clothing and some of the shoes are to die for πŸ˜› Lucky for me I don’t have a huge amount of money otherwise I would be spending up big hehe.

How divine is this corset?! Despite the fact that I could NOT breathe whilst wearing it, I fell madly in love with it and did not want to give it back.

I wasn’t too sure how to do my makeup for SteamPunk. In the end I went with dark bronze eyes and a really dark redish purple lipstick and mixed black eyeliner around the edges for a gothic look. In the photos though my lips just look red ha ha.Β

Now, because I’ve been very naughty and neglected to do this post straight away I am now having trouble remembering what makeup I used πŸ™ I shall try my best to list everything!

Arbonne Face Primer.
Arbonne Liquid foundation – Soft Blush.
Barry M Matte Bronzer
I can’t remember what blush I used, sorry!

MAC Paint Pot – Painterly: Base
Makeup Geek – glamorous: Lid
Makeup Geek – Bada Bing:Β Crease and outer corner and lower lash line.
Makeup Geek – Vanilla Bean: To blend out Bada Bing.
Makeup Geek – Shimma Shimma: Highlight for Inner Corners of my eyes.
Bobbi Brown Gel Liner – Black Ink:Β Upper lash line and water line.
Morgan Annie Mascara – Black.

Black eyeliner pencil to line my lips on the outer corners, this is to create that gothic dark lipstick look.
Nvey Organic Lipstick – No. 354…a dark purple with a red tinge.

This was a really fun shoot because we got to go on a road trip!! I tried out my video camera during the day so I will have a go at editing the footage and putting together a little video…no promises though…we did waffle a lot πŸ˜›Β

And so concludes another post πŸ™‚Β

Please bear with me for the next week as my posts may be on the light side until my boy returns from his travels (this coming Wednesday!!! :D)

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Makeup Makeup

Hello lovelies!

This week’s Instagram post is mostly about makeup! The best kind of post, right? πŸ˜›

My week started off with a makeup party on Tuesday night. May I present the lovely Lisa and her friends:

See that girl with red lipstick? How stunning does she look! Not everyone can pull of red lips but she sure can πŸ™‚Β

Uh oh! I got a littleΒ  big bit wet on Friday! I had to run a couple errands at work…the weather had been wintery all day, lots of rain and VERY windy. I looked out the window and thought “Oh yeah, it’s not raining, I’ll do my errands now.” Get Β outside *bam!* starts POURING with rain. I did have an umbrella but the wind made mince meat of it so I just had to get wet. To be honest I actually didn’t mind. I felt so alive running through the wind and rain! Am I the only one who feels like that? ha ha.

I woke up early on Saturday morning to film this makeup look for you all…I hope you appreciate my dedication to you all! πŸ˜‰ I found an Autumn inspired look on Makeup Bee and I had to recreate it! It was stunning.

After I filmed that Autumn tutorial I then had to quickly pack up my kit and make my way to Jacqui’s house to do her makeup for a lunch event. Jacqui is a fitness trainer for Ashy Bines Bikini Body Challenge…you may have seen the name floating around on Facebook? Jac is such a sweet girl! I loved getting to do her makeup for the end of challenge lunch with all her girls.

I am on fire with these tutorials lately! Oh how I love my video camera πŸ˜€ Β So this morning I filmed a requested look: Adele inspired makeup. I will be posting it next week! Suzanne, if you are reading this post, this tutorial is for YOU!

I’m sure you all will know what this look is inspired from! In case you don’t, this is inspired from the movie Black Swan. I’ve never really played around with more creative makeup such as this. I love creating bold, colourful looks but they have always been wearable. Not even I would wear this look out, unless it were for a costume party, hehe. I thought this would be an epic fail but I surprised myself and I’m pretty happy with the result.Β You will be seeing more of this look very soon! πŸ™‚

Well that wraps up my week in Instagram!Β

I hope you had a fabulous weekend and that your week is shaping up to be fantastic one πŸ™‚

Photo Tutorial: Hello Spring!! (A Colourful Look)

It’s Spring y’all! Ok, ok so it’s 14 days into Spring…this celebration post is a little overdue then haha.

I did mean to post this on Thursday but yeah that didn’t happen. My boyfriend left for Germany that day so I was preoccupied with spending the day with him as he is gone for a month!! πŸ™ haha

Having just obtained a new colourful set of clothes I am now super inspired makeup wise! I am so excited for COLOUR! I haven’t done a lot of colourful looks lately…a couple years back bright colours was the only kind of makeup I wore πŸ™‚ It’s nice to get back into again.Β

I wanted to create a tutorial for this look but didn’t want to spend hours filming and editing so I decided to do a photo tutorial for you πŸ˜€

I hope you like this look. If you do, please let me know by commenting and sharing πŸ˜€

Step 1: Prime, Prime, Prime! I use MAC’s Paint Pot in Painterly…seriously, if you aren’t using this stuff…you should definitely try it out!

Step 2: Place a red eyeshadow on the outer half of your lids and into the crease. I’m using Makeup Geek’s Razzleberry.

Step 3: Using a fluffy dome brush blend out the edges to soften.Β

Step 4: Thickly line your lower lash line with a dark green, winging it out at the end to your desired length. I used a dark green from the 88 Coastal Scents Color Palette.

Step 5: Line your waterline with a waterproof gel liner…here I used Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black.

Step 6: Let’s create some depth to this green liner. I added Makeup Geek’s Envy over the dark green, I went about 3/4 of the way in. Then I used a Chartreuse green from the Color Palette in the inner corners.

Step 7: Wing it baby! Using Maybelline Eye Studio in Black I lined my upper lash line and winged it out at the end, following the green line. You can do the wing as long or as short as you like πŸ™‚

Final Step: Add mascara and fill in your brows!!

TA DA!! A nice, easy, super colourful spring/summer look. πŸ˜€Β

Arbonne Face Primer.
Arbonne Liquid Foundation – Soft Blush.

MAC Paint Pot – Painterly
Makeup Geek – Razzleberry
Makeup Geek – Envy
Coastal Scents 88 Color Palette – Dark Green and Chartreuse Green
Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner – Black
Morgan Annie Mascara – Black

Nars blush – Orgasm

Arbonne Lipstick – Candy

Now, my lovelies, it is YOUR turn. Follow these steps and create your own Spring/Summer looks, you don’t have to use these colours, use your own favourite bright shades if you want. I LOVE it when you re-create my looks and share them with me. Seriously, there is no better way to make my day than to share your makeup looks with me via Instagram, Facebook or by sharing the link on my blog πŸ˜€

Bring on the colour!!

Requested Tutorial: Taylor Swift Makeup

Hello lovelies πŸ™‚

It’s tutorial time! I’ve been having a lot of fun filming and editing tutorials for you πŸ˜€ I’m so happy that I have a video camera again.

By the way, I’m toying with the idea of doing “day in the life of…” kind of video. I think it will be fun and will give you all a more personal insight into my life. What do you think, should I do it? Let me know in the comments!!

I’ve got a list of requested looks from a few months back so I am working through the list first before I start making tutorials that are a little more daring and crazy ha ha.Β

This week I created a classic Taylor Swift makeup look as requested by Sarah. Taylor’s makeup is actually quite easy to replicate as it is very minimalistic on the eyes (the hardest part of the face to correctly apply makeup) and dramatic on the lips (easy!) πŸ™‚ The hardest part about this look is creating the winged liner. I tried to keep as much film as possible of me applying the liner as I know that is where most people will struggle.

Should I create a tutorial on how to apply winged liner?? πŸ™‚

Oh, and I’m trying out a new photo layout for this post. The photos are thumbnail size but if you click on them they pop up bigger. This was my boyfriend’s suggestion as he said that it would make my posts look neater. I’m not too sure about it so I want YOUR thoughts on this layout. Do you like it? Is it annoying having to click on the photo to make it bigger? I am definitely going to incorporate this into my portfolios but I’m not so sure about doing it for my blog posts. So, please let me know your thoughts!!!
