Wow it is time for my next installment of featured blogs!!
Seriously, the months are going by so quickly!! I know…I know I have been very slack these past couple months. I promise to write an update for you all very soon…maybe even tonight!
This month I am featuring Cecilie from GlitterGirlC!! I love this girl, she is so creative and colourful! Make sure you all check out her blog, like her Facebook and show her plenty of love with your comments on this post 🙂
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Cecilie, I’ll be 22 the 17th this month and I come from Norway. My biggest interests are makeup, nail design, dancing, fashion and being with friends and family. I’ve been engaged to my boyfriend for almost three lovely years now. 🙂 This autumn, I’ll be studying economy or web development, but I hope to be able to go to a makeup school in the near future! 🙂
How did you first get involved with blogging?
I first started blogging in November 2011. In October last year, I made an account on a makeup community called Makeupbee, where I started posting my makeup looks. I had wanted to start a blog where I could share my hobby, but I didn’t know if people would like my crazy, colorful looks. But through Makeupbee I found out that a lot of people actually did and that made me dare to just jump into it and make my own makeup blog. 🙂
What do you find most challenging about blogging about beauty/makeup?
The most challenging thing is to give people correct advice, when they ask about something beauty related. I’m not educated in makeup, so I don’t know if what I answer is 100% correct, but it’s the way I do my makeup and what helps for me. And there aren’t really supposed to be any rules when it comes to makeup, right?
What made you first fall in love with makeup?
I’ve always liked makeup and found it interesting! But I really fell in love with the art of makeup in the autumn of 2010. I think I searched for a song on YouTube, when I bumped into a makeup video. I can’t remember which one it was, but it made me search for more makeup related videos and after that, I was hooked! 😛 I started experimenting with makeup that winter, (2010/2011).
Are there any particular celebrities or bloggers that you’re looking to for beauty inspiration?
Absolutely! I’ve got lots of bloggers, celebrities and beauty gurus on YouTube, that inspire me! Some of the bloggers that always inspire me are Veronica from Bows and Curtseys, Amy from LadyCrowX, Meredith from Pigments and Palettes, Karolina from Grzee, Kassie from Unique- Desire, Katie Alves and many more that I’ve listed in my blogroll! Also, she doesn’t have a blog, but I love her work and follow her Facebook page: Angela J, from Most Babealicious Makeup!
The YouTube beauty gurus I love watching are Julieg713, Xsparkage, xxmichaeljames, Pixiwoo, Gossmakeupartist, BeautifulYouTV, MakeupGeekTV, MissChievous, NikkieTutorials and MakeupbyTiffanyD.
And finally, the celebrities that inspire me with their makeup are JessieJ, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
What is the most important beauty advice that you can give to your readers?
My most important beauty advice to my readers, have to be that they shouldn’t be afraid of using colorful eyeshadows. And this might be a cliché, but I think everyone should be themselves and express themselves through makeup, without thinking of what other people might think of them!
Ok time to share the love, list your top three favourite bloggers whom you look up to and why?
This is a hard one, cuz I love so many! But my three favorite bloggers have to be:
• Veronica from the blog Bows and Curtseys, because her looks were the first ones I noticed and fell in love with on Makeupbee! She was actually the one that taught me how to cut my crease, through one of her videos on YouTube! I couldn’t have made those sharp lined creases without her, hehe! 😀 Also, she always creates the most beautiful, breathtaking looks and there’s not one of them I don’t like and admire! <3
• Karolina from the blog Grzee, because my jaw drops every time I see a new look from her! They’re so perfect and pretty and her blending skills are to die for! I wish that I can one day be as good to blend as her! <3 What’s her secret? Lol! ^-^
• Meredith from the blog Pigments and Palettes, because all of her looks are gorgeous and of huge inspiration to me! ^-^ Her makeup looks are so fun, colorful and creative and I’m always excited to see one of her new videos popping up on my YouTube!
If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
I would suggest to just jump into it! It’s not as scary as one might think! If you’re passionate about something and want to share it with others or get feedback on your work, having a blog would be perfect for you! ^-^
Question from last month’s blogger Makeup Junkie Nikki “What made you fall in love with makeup?”
What made me fall in love with makeup, was the way you can express yourself through it! You can be creative with lots of different colors, textures, glitters, pearls and more, to create something you think is beautiful and something that makes you happy! <3 I’ve always loved creating things with beautiful colors, like drawings, sticker books and even my school books have always looked very colorful! So makeup is an other way for me to explore my creative side. And experimenting with makeup just gives me the best feeling! 🙂
What is something you would like to ask next month’s featured blogger?
What are your top three favourite beauty products that you just can’t live without?
Thanks Cecilie!! I hope you are happy with the interview 🙂
