October Featured Blogger: Madam Noire

Hellooo beautiful readers 🙂

This month I am featuring Madam Noire. Noire creates such gorgeous makeup looks, I’m pretty sure I love every single look I’ve seen of hers. Her blending is impeccable! A lot of her looks are wearable as well so I know that you all will find inspiration for your day/night makeup looks as well as inspiration for some fun crazy makeup!!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am a goth girl who loves the Wonderland of makeup. Creativity is one of the most important parts of my life and I love using makeup as an art form.  I love animals and it’s important to me that the beauty products that I use are not tested on them.

How did you first get involved with blogging?

I started taking pictures of my makeup looks and posting them on a site called Dayviews so that my friends and family who live in other towns could see what I was doing, but also so I could follow my own process of getting better at makeup. My posts got a lot of positive response and people wanted to know more about the looks I created requesting step-by-step tutorials. So I eventually decided to start a blog.

What do you find most challenging about blogging about beauty/makeup?

To find beauty products that are cruelty-free and so good that I want to recommend them to my readers. I love animals and they are more important to me than looking good so I would never recommend anyone to buy something that is associated with animal-testing, but I wouldn’t want to recommend anything that I don’t really like just because it’s cruelty-free either.

How would you describe your signature makeup look?
Dark eye-makeup combined with black lipstick. That’s what I wear when I want to feel “like myself”.

What made you first fall in love with makeup?
The creative possibilities that the world of makeup presents! I’ve never been very confident with my looks so makeup became a way for me to not only express my creativity but also to be myself.

Are there any particular celebrities or bloggers that you’re looking to for beauty inspiration?
There are many celebrities and blogger that I get inspired by and at the moment the ones I most often turn to for inspiration are Darlin Grave, Razor Candi and bloggers like Tanja from roseshock.blogspot.com and Ronnie from Bowsandcurtseys.com

What is the most important beauty advice that you can give to your readers?
Cheesy as it may sound; be yourself! Don’t let anybody tell you what to wear or what not to wear.

Ok time to share the love, list your top three favourite bloggers whom you look up to and why?
It’s almost impossible to choose only three! 😛 There are so many bloggers who I really love. But well, let’s try.

 1.   www.bowsandcurtseys.com is just an amazing makeup-blog which provides me with so much inspiration. Ronnie likes the dark and eerie as well as the cute and glittery – just like me! 🙂

2.   www.sophistiquenoir.com ; incredible goth fashion inspiration blog! I’m completely in love with it. 🙂

3.   http://www.lookwhatthebatsdraggedin.com; this is a very inspiring gothic makeup/nail blog which has made me a lot more interested in nail-art. 🙂

If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
*Blog about something that you really love!

*Take your time taking high-quality pictures. It’s much more fun to read a blog with good pictures than one with blurry pictures or no pictures at all.

*Update often but not too often. 😉

What is something you would like to ask next month’s featured blogger?
Where do you find inspiration, apart from other blogs or celebrities?

Question from last month’s featured blogger:  What’s one technique you were always too scared to try when first starting out with makeup?
I don’t think I’ve ever been afraid to try out any makeup techniques actually. To me it’s always been try and if you fail make sure you understand what you did wrong and then try again. The worst thing that can happen is that you have to take your makeup off, right? 🙂

Thank you so much for agreeing to being interviewed Madame 🙂 And to everyone reading this, do make sure you check out Madame Noire, it’s an awesome blog!
