I was typing this post in China but then I lost internet and couldn’t get it back so I have to post it now 🙂
For the next three weeks this blog will be turned into a travel blog. I will try to do an update every day or at least every 2-3 days.
I’m currently in a chinese airport waiting for my connecting flight to Paris! I arrived in China 3 hours ago and have another 3 hours of waiting to go. I can’t access Facebook and use my phone over here so blogging is pretty much the only thing I can do…and read my Lonely Planet French phrasebook.
My journey so far….
We flew up north over WA, this was our view for 3 hours….then it was just ocean and more ocean until we reached China. I was surprised, China has SO much water! Complete opposite of Australia haha
In China you have to walk down the steps of the plane and walk to the bus which takes you to the terminal…I felt like I was back in the 70’s! I didn’t know airports still did this. First thing I noticed was the humidity!! A nice hot humid 31 degrees. And the airport has no air con! I’m so hot and sticky haha.
So after sitting on a chair for 2 and a half hours I decided to venture to the toilets….well! That turned out to be quite the experience and I may or may not have flooded the women’s toilets…I haven’t been back to check! First of all: some of the cubicles are just weird holes in the floor that you squat over (ummm what?). I avoided those and went into a European toilet cubicle…the flippin thing started flushing as I was SITTING on the toilet still! I jumped up real quick haha….I then put the toilet paper in the toilet…are you meant to do that in China? I know in some asian countries you aren’t supposed to. The toilet bowl started filling up quickly and showed no signs of stopping so I pulled up my tights, grabbed my backpack and bolted out of the toilets without looking back! So here’s hoping I haven’t destroyed the Guangzhou toilets ha ha.
And that’s my adventures so far…2 and a half hours and I will be on the plane to Paris! I think it’s like a 11 or 12 hour flight to Paris so that’s gonna be hellish…7 hours 40 minutes was enough for me.
Next post will be from France!
