*UPDATED. Sorry guys! I didn’t realise that the first video I put up was all jumpy half way through. I have rectified the problem, and the above video is the updated one. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey there!

By the way, apologies for been light on the blogging content these past couple weeks! My groove has been thrown off a bit and I’m working on getting back into it haha. I’m keeping up with the weekly tutorials but I miss blogging about other things like makeup reviews and my instagram posts. Sorry about that guys! Next week I’ll start it all up again ๐Ÿ™‚

Tutorial: Spring/Summer Inspired Makeup Look

(Make sure you watch the video in HD!!)
This week’s tutorial is super easy, colorful and fun ๐Ÿ™‚ I really hope you guys like it!!Last week Belinda and I headed down toย ย Yellagonga Regional Parkย for a fun spring inspired photo shoot. I had this vision of running through the tall grass looking all romantic and fun…of course reality hit when I remembered that I’m actually allergic to grass and so ended up being SUPER itchy! ๐Ÿ˜› haha. Oh well, it was worth it because I love the photos ๐Ÿ™‚ I will be posting the some very soon!!For my makeup I wanted something bright, but not too bright, fun and easy, as who wants to spend hours doing their makeup when a beautiful spring/summer day is beckoning?!I checked out the recent 2013 Spring/Summer fashion shows and when I saw the models’ makeup for the Christian Dior show I decided that was going to be my inspiration for this look. Here is the photo I came across:

My version is a little different. I skipped the black liner on the upper lash line, and instead of red lips I used a pretty pink lipstick. I also added some gold liner to my waterline and smudged a darker purple on my lower lash line.

Products used.
Morgan Annie Face Primer.
Arbonne Liquid Foundation – Soft Blush.
Nars Blush – Orgasm.

MAC Paint Pot – Painterly.
Inika Organic Pigment – Velvet.
Makeup Geek Vanilla Bean.
Makeup Geek – Shimma Shimma.
Makeup Geek – Sensuous.
Avon Arabian Glow Eyeliner – Gold.
Makeup Geek – Gold Digger.
Morgan Annie Mascara – Black.

Arbonne Lipstick – Candy
NYX Lip Gloss – Tea Rose

And here is a sneak peek from the Spring Shoot!!!

Do you like my hair? It was so long and boofy I wasn’t sure what to do with it! So I put some product through it and then twisted bits of hair and pinned it back randomly. I was quite pleased with the result hehe. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today is another fabulous spring day…made even better by that fact that my boy is coming home this afternoon!! I’m so excited ๐Ÿ™‚ I woke up about 3 times last night ha ha.

So I shall sign off now as I have to head off to the airport soon!

Photo Shoot: Steampunk at The Pinnacles

I’m sorry that I’ve been a bit quiet on here this past week! I don’t actually have internet connection at home so I do most of my blogging at my boyfriend’s house. But he has been in Europe for the past month so I’ve had to use my iPhone as internet for that time and now I’ve run out of data on my phone…meaning I can’t use it for the next couple weeks! Boo ๐Ÿ™ So I’m currently typing this post at McDonalds, taking full advantage of their free Wi-Fi ๐Ÿ˜›ย

I am finally posting the photos from my Steampunk shoot up at the Pinnacles!! Belinda’s husband Brendon (otherwise known as chauffeur and pack horse ;)) came along on our road trip, so while he drove Belinda and I amused ourselves by filming the endless scrub and pretty much talking non-stop hehe. I’ve never actually been to the Pinnacles so I was pretty excited to do this photo shoot up there. Hehe to be honest I actually wasn’t even sure WHERE the Pinnacles were located so when Belinda suggested we do a shoot up there I said “yeah that sounds awesome!” then went home and googled what they were and where they are located ๐Ÿ˜› hahaha. I have heard of them just wasn’t too sure what they looked like ha. Anyway, now I know that they are a bunch of rocks growing up out of the ground in pointy and sometimes amusing shapes ha ha.ย

Many thanks to the lovely Zoe from The Powder Room for loaning me these gorgeous corsets and skirts!! My dream of wearing a corset finally came true ๐Ÿ˜€ Do check out The Powder Room, Zoe sells the most divine clothing and some of the shoes are to die for ๐Ÿ˜› Lucky for me I don’t have a huge amount of money otherwise I would be spending up big hehe.

How divine is this corset?! Despite the fact that I could NOT breathe whilst wearing it, I fell madly in love with it and did not want to give it back.

I wasn’t too sure how to do my makeup for SteamPunk. In the end I went with dark bronze eyes and a really dark redish purple lipstick and mixed black eyeliner around the edges for a gothic look. In the photos though my lips just look red ha ha.ย

Now, because I’ve been very naughty and neglected to do this post straight away I am now having trouble remembering what makeup I used ๐Ÿ™ I shall try my best to list everything!

Arbonne Face Primer.
Arbonne Liquid foundation – Soft Blush.
Barry M Matte Bronzer
I can’t remember what blush I used, sorry!

MAC Paint Pot – Painterly: Base
Makeup Geek – glamorous: Lid
Makeup Geek – Bada Bing:ย Crease and outer corner and lower lash line.
Makeup Geek – Vanilla Bean: To blend out Bada Bing.
Makeup Geek – Shimma Shimma: Highlight for Inner Corners of my eyes.
Bobbi Brown Gel Liner – Black Ink:ย Upper lash line and water line.
Morgan Annie Mascara – Black.

Black eyeliner pencil to line my lips on the outer corners, this is to create that gothic dark lipstick look.
Nvey Organic Lipstick – No. 354…a dark purple with a red tinge.

This was a really fun shoot because we got to go on a road trip!! I tried out my video camera during the day so I will have a go at editing the footage and putting together a little video…no promises though…we did waffle a lot ๐Ÿ˜›ย

And so concludes another post ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Please bear with me for the next week as my posts may be on the light side until my boy returns from his travels (this coming Wednesday!!! :D)

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

It’s time for my weekly tutorial!

While browsing through Makeup Bee a couple weeks back I came across a stunning colourful autumn makeup look by Ronnie from Bows and Curtsies. Review & Swatches: Makeup Geek Eyeshadows. Part 3

I have ANOTHER Makeup Geek (MUG) eye shadow review today! I now have over 20 shades! I just want to extend a BIG thank you to Brittany from Makeup Geek who offered to send me another 12 eyeshadows of my choice!! Brittany is so lovely, thank you girl! I absolutely love these colours that I picked out xoxoxย

Now, I just want to point out that even though MUG sent me these eyeshadows for free it does NOT mean that my review will all about what the MUG team wants to hear. I don’t think they would want me to write like that either! No, these reviews are all my own opinion ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok, now that the disclaimer is out of the way, let’s get started with the review!…

ย A metallic silver. It has a gorgeous metallic sheen without being over-the-top, making this a colour that is wearable day and night. 4/5
Bleached Blonde: A shimmery, pale gold. This looks great with blue eyes. I’ve paired it Bada Bing to create a nice day time look. The colour pay off isn’t the greatest unfortunately…compared to most other MUG eyeshadows anyway.ย 3/5
Vanilla Bean:ย I love this shade! A lovely, light, buttercream matte eyeshadow. It’s PERFECT for blending out dark eyeshadows and for on the brow bone for those who would rather a matte shadow over a shimmery one like Shimma Shimma.ย 5/5

Peacock: A matte deep teal blue. Insane pigmentation!! Top marks for that MUG!! To be honest I haven’t really tried this colour out so I haven’t got much to say except that it has GREAT pigmentation and is matte…so many colours are shimmery these days! I will use this colour in a look soon and give it a good test run ๐Ÿ™‚ย 4/5 (for pigmentation)
Mermaid:ย Metallic teal with gold reflects. Love love love! This colour makes me happy, haha. It is hard to photograph shimmery colours, in real life you can see the gold sheen better and it really does look like a MERMAIDS tail!! Stunning. And AMAZING pigmentationย 5/5
Sea Mist:ย A shimmery turquoise. Again, awesome colour payoff! This is a super pretty shade…would look lovely paired with brown eyeshadows…I shall do a look with this very soon.ย 4/5

Mango Tango: Peachy coral pink, more on the matte side. I really like this colour! Makes me think of watermelon hehe. Good pigmentation too! I think this would look lovely on blue eyes ๐Ÿ™‚ย 4/5
Cinderella: Pale shimmery pink…this is a very low shimmer colour. I’ve used it a couple times but…I don’t know, I’m just not really sold on this colour. It is pretty but the pigmentation isn’t very good so it doesn’t show up very well on the eyes.ย 2.5/5
Burlesque: A deep metallic burgundy. I really like this shade. It looks beautiful on my green eyes AND blue eyes! I’ve paired this with Gold Digger and Bada Bing for a nice warm smokey eye. The pigmentation is pretty good as well. I find that with adding other colours and blending, this colour fades away easily so I always just go back and add more at the end. The staying power is good!ย 4/5

Pixie Dust:ย
A shimmery lime green. I had this colour on my wish list for ages so when I was offered some free colours I immediatley added this to my list of 12! I’ve only used it as a liner so far…great pigmentation! I was very impressed with it ๐Ÿ™‚ย 4/5
Manderine:ย Bright orange with flecks of gold. This too was on my wish list…I HAD to get this one because my aunt really wants me to try out a look on her using this colour, so I would have been in trouble if I didn’t choose this one ๐Ÿ˜› I love it though! As you can see, it is very vibrant…I didn’t need really build up the colour when I used it. The only thing ย I found was that the potency didn’t last as well as some of the other colours. I find the same thing happens with Razzleberry…the colour stays on all over a primer but the vibrancy fades…so for that reason I will give it aย 3.5/5ย Great colour otherwise…looks fantastic with brown and blue eyes!!
Neptune:ย A matte bright blue. This colour is BRIGHT! Potent ha ha. I haven’t used it for a look yet so I’m not sure how well the vibrancy looks so I will give it aย 5/5ย for pigmentation and texture.

And there you have it. Part 3 of my Makeup Geek review…many more to come I’m sure! Marlena has just released gel liners (one of the shades is YELLOW!) and she has a lipstick line which I’m yet to try and also a bunch more eyeshadows. Ooooh actually, I just remembered, I have already ordered a gel liner so I will be reviewing that when I get it ๐Ÿ˜€

Have you tried any of these colours? What are you thoughts on them!

Geek love
