Audrey Hepburn Makeup Tutorial

photo 2 (2)

Hello darlings ♥

Audrey Hepburn is one of my biggest muses; she is the epitome of chic and gracefulness! I’ve never seen anyone else talk and move with such poise and class – I knew I should have taken those ballet classes when I was younger haha.

I love her carefree and classic style and of course her makeup! – so I thought it was high time that I filmed a tutorial for her signature makeup look 🙂

I based this look more on her makeup throughout the 1950’s – think Funny Face or Roman Holiday; where she has those intense brows and a red/coral lipstick. I hope you like the tutorial! ♥

Hey there lovelies 🙂

This is mainly going to be a photo post ha.

I haven’t filmed any tutorials for you lately 🙁 I miss it! I just haven’t been in the right head space to sit down and film. So for today’s post I decided to share some of my recent MotD (Makeup of the Day) and Ootd (Outfit of the Day) plus a few other photos that I like from my instagram! If you follow me on instagram, I apologise because you will have seen most of these photos already but for those of you who don’t then here you go!

If you like any of my makeup looks and would like a tutorial on how to recreate the look, please please let me know…I would love to do a tutorial for you 😀

Today’s makeup. I decided on a whim to wear false lashes today!

Baby Girl posing for the camera…she’s a selfie addict like moi 😉

A beautiful West Australian sunset, snapped this over the weekend 🙂

Makeup of the day: Red lips and bold brows kinda day.

Last Wednesday I did Lovisa’s makeup for her Year 12 School Ball!

Saturday night I did Belinda’s makeup for her friend’s engagement party! I have such a gorgeous Aunty, love her to pieces <3

Pulling a weird face while wearing my oversized hipster glasses…just cos. 😛

11th April, I was the makeup artist for new fashion label L J Chaplin Designs!! I got to make up these gorgeous gals! There are more photos on my Facebook page.

Makeup of the day: My go-to look, red lips and winged liner.

Hot pink lips! Lipstick from Barry M.

Outfit of the day and makeup of the day! Dress from Ally, shoes from the op shop.

Another makeup of the day look: An extremely colourful, bold makeup look inspired by a makeup artist I follow on instagram! This is so up my alley, was really happy with this look 🙂

Outfit of the day: Bought these awesome ombre tights from Romwe! You can’t really see the Blue/Purple effect in this photo…I’ll take a clearer photo next time 🙂

I bought these red tights from Dotti a while back…I paired them with pointy ankle boots that I’ve had for years, a black bolero and a red beret. I ended up looking like a French elf 😛 But I like it hehe

Makeup of the day: I was going for a bohemian pirate  look this day 😛

Makeup look I created for my prom night tutorial…but I’ve been busy and slack and haven’t finished editing it yet 🙁 I’m sorry!

So recap of what I’ve been up to lately…..

  • Over the weekend I did my aunt’s makeup for an engagement party and I went down south to visit my brother for his 21st birthday!
  • Last Wednesday I did my friend’s makeup for her school ball.
  • I was part of the creative team on a Winter Wonderland photo shoot recently…photos coming in the next post!
  • I decided to celebrate my birthday this year with a dance party at my house! I’m so excited for it 😀
  • I spent a whole week getting to know my housemates better. We went to a few bars one night which was great fun, cooked together nearly every night, watched movies together, spent most nights taste testing the different whiskey’s they bought in America and went to the Rooftop Cinema in the city!

What have you been up to? Leave me a comment on here or write a post on my Facebook page! And don’t forget to follow me on instagram, @littlecoconut 🙂

Let’s get socialising!

A Colourful Autumn Inspired Tutorial.

Hi lovelies 🙂

It’s time for my weekly tutorial!

While browsing through Makeup Bee a couple weeks back I came across a stunning colourful autumn makeup look by Ronnie from Bows and Curtsies. This really appealed to me as I love autumn, and also because most autumn looks are done with bronzes and oranges but this look is more about the purple, green and red. Stunning.

Review & Swatches: Makeup Geek Eyeshadows. Part 3

I have ANOTHER Makeup Geek (MUG) eye shadow review today! I now have over 20 shades! I just want to extend a BIG thank you to Brittany from Makeup Geek who offered to send me another 12 eyeshadows of my choice!! Brittany is so lovely, thank you girl! I absolutely love these colours that I picked out xoxox

Now, I just want to point out that even though MUG sent me these eyeshadows for free it does NOT mean that my review will all about what the MUG team wants to hear. I don’t think they would want me to write like that either! No, these reviews are all my own opinion 🙂

Ok, now that the disclaimer is out of the way, let’s get started with the review!…

A metallic silver. It has a gorgeous metallic sheen without being over-the-top, making this a colour that is wearable day and night. 4/5
Bleached Blonde: A shimmery, pale gold. This looks great with blue eyes. I’ve paired it Bada Bing to create a nice day time look. The colour pay off isn’t the greatest unfortunately…compared to most other MUG eyeshadows anyway. 3/5
Vanilla Bean: I love this shade! A lovely, light, buttercream matte eyeshadow. It’s PERFECT for blending out dark eyeshadows and for on the brow bone for those who would rather a matte shadow over a shimmery one like Shimma Shimma. 5/5

Peacock: A matte deep teal blue. Insane pigmentation!! Top marks for that MUG!! To be honest I haven’t really tried this colour out so I haven’t got much to say except that it has GREAT pigmentation and is matte…so many colours are shimmery these days! I will use this colour in a look soon and give it a good test run 🙂 4/5 (for pigmentation)
Mermaid: Metallic teal with gold reflects. Love love love! This colour makes me happy, haha. It is hard to photograph shimmery colours, in real life you can see the gold sheen better and it really does look like a MERMAIDS tail!! Stunning. And AMAZING pigmentation 5/5
Sea Mist: A shimmery turquoise. Again, awesome colour payoff! This is a super pretty shade…would look lovely paired with brown eyeshadows…I shall do a look with this very soon. 4/5

Mango Tango: Peachy coral pink, more on the matte side. I really like this colour! Makes me think of watermelon hehe. Good pigmentation too! I think this would look lovely on blue eyes 🙂 4/5
Cinderella: Pale shimmery pink…this is a very low shimmer colour. I’ve used it a couple times but…I don’t know, I’m just not really sold on this colour. It is pretty but the pigmentation isn’t very good so it doesn’t show up very well on the eyes. 2.5/5
Burlesque: A deep metallic burgundy. I really like this shade. It looks beautiful on my green eyes AND blue eyes! I’ve paired this with Gold Digger and Bada Bing for a nice warm smokey eye. The pigmentation is pretty good as well. I find that with adding other colours and blending, this colour fades away easily so I always just go back and add more at the end. The staying power is good! 4/5

Pixie Dust:
A shimmery lime green. I had this colour on my wish list for ages so when I was offered some free colours I immediatley added this to my list of 12! I’ve only used it as a liner so far…great pigmentation! I was very impressed with it 🙂 4/5
Manderine: Bright orange with flecks of gold. This too was on my wish list…I HAD to get this one because my aunt really wants me to try out a look on her using this colour, so I would have been in trouble if I didn’t choose this one 😛 I love it though! As you can see, it is very vibrant…I didn’t need really build up the colour when I used it. The only thing  I found was that the potency didn’t last as well as some of the other colours. I find the same thing happens with Razzleberry…the colour stays on all over a primer but the vibrancy fades…so for that reason I will give it a 3.5/5 Great colour otherwise…looks fantastic with brown and blue eyes!!
Neptune: A matte bright blue. This colour is BRIGHT! Potent ha ha. I haven’t used it for a look yet so I’m not sure how well the vibrancy looks so I will give it a 5/5 for pigmentation and texture.

And there you have it. Part 3 of my Makeup Geek review…many more to come I’m sure! Marlena has just released gel liners (one of the shades is YELLOW!) and she has a lipstick line which I’m yet to try and also a bunch more eyeshadows. Ooooh actually, I just remembered, I have already ordered a gel liner so I will be reviewing that when I get it 😀

Have you tried any of these colours? What are you thoughts on them!

Mod Photo Shoot.

Hi lovelies,

Last weekend I was model (and makeup artist) for a Mod themed photo shoot. When I met up with Marti to do that 1920’s shoot a few weeks ago he mentioned that he and his friend Zoe, a stylist and owner of online store The Powder Room, had been talking of putting together a 60’s mod shoot for nearly a year but hadn’t met the right model…I jumped at the opportunity to do another shoot, especially a mod shoot (Twiggy makeup, heck yes!)

So last Sunday Zoe, Marti, Danny (another photographer), Tim (the scooter man!) and myself all met up in an under cover car park…it was raining  a lot hence the under cover car park. I was relieved when I saw that Zoe had put together warm outfits (yay for not freezing ha ha).

Ahhh Marti and Danny, I love you both, such awesome photographers. They are fast and proficient, and fun…and super quick with getting photos edited ♥ They have been added to my “most favourite photographers” list…Belinda being up the top of course 🙂

Also, Zoe…what an awesome lass. I admire any person who can work as a lawyer but has pink and blonde hair! You all should go check out her store on Facebook: The Powder Room

I will post some photos to my Facebook page also.

The first set of photos are by Danny Reardon of Jomoboy Photography:

Rest of the photos are by Marti Hughes of Marti Hughes Photography:

Seriously, how good are these two photographers and stylist?!

I love the white Go-Go boots…want! haha…and Oh Em Gee I seriously need that yellow jacket, orange dress and hat.

I had such fun working with these peeps, can’t wait to do it again 😀

What’s your favourite shot from this shoot? Let me know in the comments.
I actually don’t know if I can choose, I love them all…I think I would have to say the close up one with the yellow coat by Marti and from Danny’s photos, the one where I’m sitting on the floor of the scooter wearing the grey cape. But really, I just love them all 🙂

Well done Marti and Zoe, you came up with a great concept.

Oooh and today I filmed a video! First one in months…I finally have a new video camera so I can start-up video tutorials again 🙂 I will try get this one out tonight or Wednesday.

Mod love…

p.s. Belinda and I are planning a photo shoot for the beginning of September. It is going to be amazing! Wait til you see the location and outfits 😀 I am so excited!!
